The first date of the Fuzzy Duck and Rubber Chicken

The Fuzzy Duck had been dreaming of this date for days.

She got her hair brushed, put on her special bronzer and even gave herself a webbed pedicure.

Finally, she was ready to walk to the restaurant from her cozy cottage. As a modern duck, she refused to have the man pick her up on the first date. After all, what if things fizzled? He could pick her up on the second date, she reasoned.

When she got to the hottest vegetarian restaurant in town, Grass, the Rubber Chicken was waiting for her with flowers.

"You look gorgeous," he told her, his yellow feathers turning bright red.

"Thanks!" the Fuzzy Duck beamed.

Ever the gentleman, the Rubber Chicken had picked the best table.

After a couple drinks of wheat grass martinis, they dined on slow roasted corn with a side of curry barley and the house salad.

Once the Rubber Chicken had picked up the tab, the two lovebirds went on a stroll before dessert.

They floated through the tunnel of love in a swan boat at a elementary school carnival.

Next, they stopped by a Christmas tree farm to look at all the gorgeous Christmas trees.

They even stopped to take pictures by the world's biggest poinsettia.

The Rubber Chicken was such a sensitive soul he even volunteered to hold her purse while the Fuzzy Duck frolicked through the trees.

To top off a romantic evening, they shared a peanut butter milk shake at a local sweet shop. You see, it's a big secret chickens and ducks love peanut butter!

Ever the gentleman, the Rubber Chicken walked the Fuzzy Duck home. After a brief kiss, he suggested a second date.

Now the Fuzzy Duck is just waiting for him to call!

Stay tuned, Invisible Friends! Tomorrow we have another treasured recipe from Margaret! Then Friday we have a new Twirl and a new Kitchen Magic Saturday. And in the next day or two, my book of Christmas Tales will be available for sale! Stay tuned for more information!

Ring Ring Ring May I please speak with Blonde Duck? I just wanted to call and say Thank you for a wonderful night. I felt like I floated on air on the flight home from your house. I can't wait to see you again but don't want to be too pushy. Are you available Friday night?

Duckie you are a nut!

I agree with the others, Fuzzy shouldn't wait by the phone. Perhaps we should get her a copy of the book, Rules; think it will work for ducks?

Not much more than that rubber chicken can make me laugh. Except of course for rubber chicken holding a purse!

I love that Fuzzy Duck wore her special bronzer. Gotta love a gal that knows how to use makeup to bring out her best look. I used to make peanut butter milkshakes all the time when I worked at a cafeteria many moons ago. I'd not heard of bronzer back then ... just plenty of Merle Norman blush and Bonne Bell watermelon flavored lip gloss. It was the 70's afterall. :-)
