500

Dear Invisible Friends, this is my 500th post.

To celebrate, I'm offering a sussy. A surprise. A gift for you.

How do you enter to win? Well, as Thanksgiving is coming up (Please get off the floor. You knew this was coming. Up. Up now. Come on.), just leave a comment with your favorite memory from Thanksgiving. It can be the worst Thanksgiving, the best, the time your sister delivered her baby as you said grace...whatever you like. Whoever leaves the best one will get a terrific sussy!

And now, it's my turn to say thanks.

First, I want to thank Ingrid from Baseball, baking and books for giving me the Kreativ Blogger award. She's a wonderful lady and you should all go visit her right now!

I'd like to pass this on to eight of my creative blogging Invisible friends:

1) Marie

2) Pam

3) Two Peas and a Pod

4) Noble Pig

5) Grace

6) Clumbsy

7) Emily

8) Katherine

Speaking of Katherine, I have to thank Katerine for giving me the Chocoholic award. If you haven't visited her blog, you've got to go. She comes up with the coolest recipes!

Now, I'd like to pass this on to some of the sweetest gals I know:

1) Corianne

2) Jane

3) Lisa

4) Candy

5) Laurie

6) Dee

7) Veronica

And I have to thank Kelly for the delightful sussy she sent me earlier this week! Let me tell you, those treats won't last long in my house!

Also, dear Invisible Friends, I have a question for you. Do you want me to continue writing scary stories? I figured you would be in the mood for Christmas and Thanksgiving type tales, but it is thrilling to be scared. Tell me what you want below!

We have a fun week coming up, Invisible Friends. We have a new dancehall dreamers, a new Miss Pickles, a tasty beef stew and bran muffins and more fun. So stay tuned!

Congratulations on your awards Duckie -- you sure do deserve them! I can't believe that you have posted 500 times. That is amazing!

Ok -- My most memorable Thanksgiving was when I moved away from my family and was feeling lonely and then my family all flew out to my house for Thanksgiving. I think it was the first time I really made the entire meal and it was such fun! Then we all had a family picture taken. It turned out that it was the last family picture that we did before my Dad passed away. So it was wonderful that we were all able to be together at that time!

I hope you are having a great weekend. Thanks for being such a positive and wonderful part of my life!

500?? !! Wow! How long have you been doing this? That's impressive!
Hmmmmm, not sure if this memory will count, but....drum roll, please...it was the day I arrived into this big old world! My Mom never let me forget how she missed out on that Thanksgiving dinner she'd worked so hard to prepare, and the pumpkin pie that turned our perfect, the first time ever! Since blessing the world that day with my presence...I've been giving Thanks each and every day of my life, because I, myself feel so blessed!

We were expats in Malaysia 2006. I spent 50.00 USD on a turkey.
4.00 on a can of pumpkin.
My yeast for the rolls failed twice.
Then a Malaysian Chinese fellow pulled the rug out from under our feet and had his own Thanksgiving and invited all of our prospective guests (hellooow,,you are Not an American!).
It was the three of us lonely folks for Thanksgiving that day. We were missing our college age kids who were in the USA. We were so homesick that day.
Oh, and my poor 8th grader was forced to do detention at school. I was seriously irked at the Principal, a Canadian.

Hi Duckie, congratulations on your awards and thank you for the chocoholic award perfect for me! As we don't celebrate thanksgiving in England my favourite memory comes from Christmas. For many years we went to both sets of parents with all the friction it caused morning at one house and afternoon at the other. Then Emily arrived and we said no, this christmas you can all come to us. Bliss! Still had to keep them seperate morning and afternoon as they didn't get on, but it was lovely to be at home. Again after many years travelling to my parents for Christmas they are coming to us this year. It will be lovely to be at home and i am so excited. Jane x

The only thing I can think of, was the time my SIL (now ex) presented a beautiful looking turkey only to find the cavity was stuffed w/the original package still inside... she never cleaned it YUK!

Great end to the story down below! Loved it!

My favorite Thanksgiving was the one that I spent in Tallinn, Estonia, because it was only then that I truly realized all the many things I have to be grateful for. I didn't spend the entire day eating and I was spending my time giving to others. It was a great year.

Oh congrats on your 500th post!! I have a ways to go to hit that one. :)

My memorable Thanksgiving is the one year my mother couldn't be there (she was out of the country at the time) and my sister and I had to bake the turkey. Everything was going wonderfully, all the side dishes were prepared successfully until we started smelling melted plastic. My father crinkled his nose and asked where that smell was coming from. We pulled out the turkey and, well, no one told us the giblets, neck and liver and all those goodies were in a bag!! :) Never again.

Wheeeee! Thanks for the award, you blonde duck.

Congrats on 500! Holy cow! When did you start blogging?
I see.... I'm such a newbie.

Okay. My favorite Thanksgiving memory is a short one, but it's funny.

My older sister was examining our Thanksgiving turkey. Reading the package, she said, "Tom Turkey.... do they always name each turkey every year?"

Hey, you're welcome! You have a terrific blog!

I would like to read the rest of Twirl, pretty please!

Every Thanksgiving with my family is special. I can't really think of one thing in particular as being a standout. Last year my Honey and I made Thanksgiving dinner by ourselves from start to finish; a first for both of us! (My mom and dad moved away.)

Well, Canadian Thanksgiving is in October, however different time same thing. My most fond memory is when I decided to make a turkey dinner for my friends...I had never made a turkey before and did not defrost it in time...we did not eat dinner till like 10:30 at night because the turkey took forever to bake...we got really drunk though because instead of eating we just drunk until 10:30. All 6 of my friends stayed the night. It was actually funny and we still talk and laugh about it.

Oh and favorite Thanksgiving? Well, being Canadian, ours just passed, but I'd have to say it would have been this one. Our first Thanksgiving with our daughter. And her first try at turkey. The look on her face was priceless!
