The Babies go to the Memorial Day Picnic

Yesterday, the Babies left the Pond for the first time!

Snuggled in their little green bed in the floorboards of the front seat, they dozed the entire way there. Once they got out, they met the Original Babies.

They were not amused. They were terrified.

Meanwhile, the Original Babies were curious and intrigued. They couldn't tell if the babies were overgrown rodents or puppies.

So the Babies retired to the kitchen for a few hours where they slept in laps and scurried around the kitchen looking for extra laps.

Meanwhile, Dad and Ben put a new motor in Dad's lawnmower.

The Babies enjoyed frolicking in a new yard. At the picnic, they were passed from person to person. All the little girls rushed over to pat and pet them. Bitty spent most of the picnic propped in a little girl's lap, graciously gracing everyone with her presence. Meanwhile, Bear spent most of his time wuffling and falling asleep on anyone who held him longer than 2 minutes.

Being cute is very tiring.

Luckily, they have recovered fully this morning. The Babies has resumed their favorite activities of fighting on the couch, piddling on the carpet and sprinkling their toys all over the house.
